One of the latest additions to the UFC 144 fight card is the battle that is set to take place between Ryan Bader and Quinton “Rampage” Jackson. This fight will be part of a line up that will hit the Saitama Super Arena in Saitama, Japan on February 26th 2012. Jackson wanted a fight in Japan and he most definitely has one now.
Ryan Bader enters this fight with an MMA record of 13-2. Since losing to the current UFC Light Heavyweight champion Jon Jones back at UFC 126 in February of this year, he followed his first ever loss with yet another defeat at the hands of veteran Tito Ortiz. This was a real bad losing streak for Bader but he broke it at UFC 139 against Jason Brilz by scoring a first round knockout. This should give him the confidence boost he needs going into this fight against Rampage.
Quinton “Rampage” Jackson’s most recent fight was against the champ Jon Jones at UFC 135 where Rampage was defeated via Rear Naked Choke in the fourth round. Before losing this fight Jackson had defeated Lyoto Machida and Matt Hamill on his way to a title shot and won both fights through decision. This particular fight in Japan will suit Rampage nicely as he competed in the country many times during his time in the Pride Fighting Championships earlier in his career. If there is any turf advantage to be gained the Quinton Jackson will definitely have it.
This fight should be very entertaining, both men hit hard and need a victory. I cannot wait to see this fight and all of the other fights set to take place at UFC 144.
Thanks guys,
Jay Cee.
