News has recently emerged that Sam stout will be taking on Thiago Tavares at UFC 142 which will be held in Brazil at Rio de Janeiro’s HSBC Arena. This should be an exciting lightweight battle for the event which takes place on January 14th 2012.
Sam Stout enters this fight with an MMA record of 17-6-1. His most recent victory was against Yves Edwards at UFC 131 where he picked up ”Knockout Of The Night” honors for a highlight reel first round KO. Sam was supposed to be fighting at UFC 137 but was unable to compete due to the death of his brother-in-law and well known MMA trainer Shawn Thompkins. This fight against Tavares will mark the return of Stout as he continues to progress up the ranks of the lightweight division.
Fighting for the second time in a row within his home country will be Brazilian Thiago Tavares. He enters this fight with a record of 16-4-1 and last competed at UFC 134 which was also held in Rio de Janeiro, Brazil. Thiago defeated Spencer Fisher that night with a TKO in the second round. With up and down form within the UFC Thiago will now look to build up some big wins and a victory over Sam Stout would definitely be good for him.
