UCMMA have announced three new bouts for their UCMMA 34 event as Chi Lewis-Parry makes the first defence of his UK1 title against Neil Grove in the main event, Galore Bofando faces Peter Irving and Dayman Lake takes on Paul Taylor. The event is set to take place at the Troxy in London, England, on June 1.
UCMMA officials confirmed the new bouts today via official press release.
This will be Neil Grove’s first ever UK1 bout, but he is an experienced Mixed Martial Artist and will enter the bout with a skill-set suitable for the task at hand. He is coming off a big victory over Tomasz Czerwinski at UCMMA 31, where he won the heavyweight MMA title via first round KO.
Here is what Neil Grove had to say:
“This is my first UK1 fight and fighting for the UCMMA heavyweight title is a challenge in itself! Fighting the current champion, Chi Parry, is going to be a war! He is my size, so it won’t be a ‘David vs Goliath’ scenario physically. It will be two Philistines fighting for the ultimate prize! Victory! My first K1 victory, that is.”
Former basketball player, Chi Lewis Parry, has an MMA record of 1-0 and a UK1 record of 1-0. Chi defeated Tomasz Czerwinski at UCMMA 30 to become the UK1 heavyweight champ. This will be Parry’s first title defense since winning the title.
Here is what UCMMA promoter, Dave O’Donnell said:
“I am so excited to see 2 of the best striking heavyweights in the country take each other on, knowing both of these guys want to put the judges out of business, the only way they will be satisfied is with a huge KO…Let the best man win”
UCMMA 34 takes place on June 1st at The Troxy Theatre in London, however before then, UCMMA 33 goes down on April 6th – Check out www.UCMMA.com for all the details!
