A new bout has been formed for the UFC on FOX Sports 1 1 card as British fighter Andy Ogle (9-2) has suffered an injury and will no longer be able to compete. Max Holloway (7-2) has stepped in as a replacement and will now face Conor McGregor (13-2) in a featherweight showdown. The event is set to take place at TD Garden in Boston, Mass, on August 17.
UFC officials recently announced the change.
UFC on FOX Sports 1 1 will feature a headline bout between Mauricio “Shogun” Rua and Chael Sonnen, who will engage in a light heavyweight battle. The main card and a large section of the preliminary card bouts will air on the new FOX Sports 1 channel with some of the prelims expected to air on Facebook.
The bout between Holloway and McGregor is likely to be competitive and exciting. Occasionally I like to gamble on websites like MobileCasino.co.nz, but I would be hesitant to bet money on either of these guys to win as it is sure to be a close matchup.
Max Holloway last fought at UFC 160 in May, where he dropped a split decision loss against Dennis Bermudez. Prior to that he had been on a three fight winning streak, defeating notable fighters such as Pat Schilling, Justin Lawrence and Leonard Garcia during 2012. Holloway now has the chance to bounce back into the win column with a good performance against McGregor.
Meanwhile, Conor McGregor, who is a former Cage Warriors lightweight and featherweight champion, enters this fight coming off a victory in his UFC debut. He faced Marcus Brimage at UFC on FUEL TV 9 in April and won via first round TKO. McGregor’s performance earned him “Fight of the Night” honors and a large amount of new fans. Conor will not doubt look to impress again with a big win over Holloway on August 17.
