The UFC have found a replacement to fight against Michael McDonald at UFC 139 and it comes in the form of newcomer Alex Soto. Johnny Eduardo was originally meant to be facing McDonald but had to drop out of the fight due to a shoulder injury. Soto will take Eduardo’s place and become part of the stacked card sheduled for UFC 139 which will take place on November 19th 2011 at the HP Pavilion in San Jose, California.
The newcomer Alex Soto enters this fight undefeated with an MMA record of 6-0-1. In his most recent fight Soto took on Seiji Akao at the DEEP 54 event held in Tokyo, Japan. This fight resulted in a draw ending Alex’s six fight winning streak. Alex now gets a shot at the big time against McDonald, it will be interesting to see how he performs on the big stage. I am sure he will be hoping to score a big win and impress the UFC.
Michael McDonald is definitely the more experienced fighter with an MMA record of 13-1, he is undefeated in the UFC so far having defeated both Edwin Figueroa and Chris Cariaso this year. In the Figueroa fight which was Michael’s first UFC bout, both men earned ”Fight Of The Night” honors from a battle in which we saw back and forth striking and submission attempts for most of the fight. McDonald scored the victory via unanimous decision getting himself off to a good start within the organisation. He will now look to continue his success by defeating Soto and moving up the bantamweight ranks.
Thanks guys,
