Here is what Mark Pavelich, Owner/President of the Maximum Fighting Championship had to say:
“The MFC really started to produce exceptional talent in the middleweight division in 2012, and these two fights – part of our first show in 2013 – is a direct result of that talent influx,” Pavelich also said. “There was a huge level of excitement around the MMA world when we signed Jay Silva, and immediately Jacen Flynn jumped at the opportunity because he wants to prove he’s much better than when we saw last time out.”
Jay Silva last fought at KSW 19 in May, where he dropped a decision loss to Michał Materla. Prior to that he scored a second round submission victory over Kendall Grove at Superior Cage Combat 4 in February, and dropped a decision loss to Bristol Marunde in November 2011. Silva will no doubt look to get himself back onto the winning track with a big performance against Flynn.
Jacen Flynn was last in action at MFC 34 in August, where he dropped a first round TKO loss to Elvis Mutapcic. That loss snapped a four fight winning streak he had built up, defeating notable fighters such as Hank Weiss, Edwin Dewees and Kyle Keeney. Flynn now has a chance to get back into the win column against Silva.
“As for Jason Zentgraf, he wanted to step up in competition and he matches up very well with Luke Harris. And Luke is very eager to start a new winning streak. Both these guys want to be front and center in the title picture so it is a fitting matchup – and I believe it will be a very exciting one as well.” - Mark Pavelich
Jason Zentgraf is currently riding a three fight winning streak, most recently defeating Cody Krahn via first round submission at MFC 34 in August. That third straight win followed two previous first round submission victories over Robert Malphrus and Dan Chambers. Zentgraf will no doubt look to extend his winning streak to four on Feb. 15.
Luke Harris last fought at MFC 34 in August, where he suffered a first round TKO loss against Joseph Henle. Prior to that he picked up a First round submission victory over Edwin Dewees at MFC 33 in May, and scored a win over Brandon MacArthur at “KOTC – Infamy” in March. Harris has a chance to bounce back from his last fight with a big win over Zentgraf.
