The UK’s hottest amateur Mixed Martial Arts (MMA) event, Full Contact Contender (FCC), is proud to officially confirm the date for their next offering: Full Contact Contender 7. The card will see the promotion return to The Reebok for the fifth time, with all the action going down on Saturday, September 7th, 2013.
In a professional feature bout, former Wolfslair fighter Alex Minogue, now with SBG Mainline, returns to the cage against Team Quannum’s Jordan McClusky. FCC 7 will also see former FCC amateur middleweight champion Ant Bailey make his professional MMA debut against Mark Jones. Bailey, undefeated at amateur with all his wins coming by way of (T)KO, has been focusing on training students since his ‘KO of the Night’ performance at FCC 4, and he’s eager to return to the scene of the crime with another knock out victory.
Back in the amateur ranks, FCC amateur featherweight champion Josh Jarvis (4-1) will defend against Blackburn Predators’ Wayne Tierney (7-3). Jarvis was scheduled to return at FCC 6, but his bout was nixed after his opponent failed to make weight by some margin. Jarvis will be raring to go come September 7th, after spending over a year on the side lines.
In a bout to determine the #1 contender in the FCC amateur lightweight division, HAMMA’s Josh Carney (5-2) will face undefeated SBG product Paul Douglas (4-0).
Fresh of his Cage Warriors debut, FCC favorite Luke ‘The Animal’ Taylor returns to face former FCC title contender James Walker. With two of the heaviest hitters to step into the FCC cage primed to throw down, fireworks are all but guaranteed. Another former light heavyweight title contender, SBG’s AJ Akande, faces Alex Bristow, the winner of FCC’s first ever main event. Other familiar FCC faces set to return include Ryan and Jay Robinson, Andy Eatock and FCPC’s undefeated Adil Hussain.
FCC Promoter Adam Teh said, “We’re thrilled to be bringing Full Contact Contender back to The Reebok for FCC 7. This is the 5th time the venue has hosted us; we’re happy to have built up such a strong relationship with our hosts, and look forward to bring many more FCC cards to the The Reebok.Once again, the team are working tirelessly to build a card full of FCC favourites and the hottest new amateur talent on the scene. We’ve got one half of a very special main event verbally agreed; as soon as we’ve locked down an opponent who’s ‘TUF’ enough, all will be revealed, so stay tuned!”
