A new bout has been formed for the UCMMA 35 card as Marc Navarro now faces Iain Martell, who has stepped in for an injured Adam Hart. Late replacement Martell and Scottish champion Hart will now battle for the light heavyweight UK1 title. The event is set to take place at London’s Troxy on Saturday, August 3rd.
UCMMA officials announced the new bout earlier today.
UCMMA 35 will feature a headline bout between former UFC fighter Karlos Vemola and Denniston Sutherland, who will battle for the middleweight title.
Here is what UCMMA promoter Dave O’Donnell had to say:
“As a promoter it’s hard to lose top guys but this time my hat goes off to both of these athletes, but Martell has been on the phone daily waiting for a pull out, 2 came at once but he can only take the one fight, I can’t wait for UCMMA 35 its going to be a Summer Sizzler.”
Iain Martell has recently returned from a trip to Brazil, were he has been training and fighting for the last 3 months. Whilst out there he scored two first round stoppages over Diorgenes Inacio and Raul Bazan, which brings his MMA record to 9-1. Martell will get the chance to showcase his striking against Navarro, rather then his BJJ, as they engage in a K1 bout on August 3rd.
