Conor McGregor has made it clear that he is eager to make a return to the UFC as soon as possible and really see what the top 10 featherweights have to offer. The Irish Mixed Martial Artist is currently dealing with an injury to his ACL and hopes to make a quick recovery.
Here is what Conor McGregor had to say on this weeks installment of UFC Tonight:
“I’m following the blueprint that Georges St-Pierre set down. He had the same injury. I have the same doctor and the same rehab.”
It definitely sounds like Conor is working with the right people and taking the right steps towards a full recovery, so hopefully he won’t be out for too long. The former Cage Warriors Lightweight and Featherweight champ is currently riding a ten-fight winning streak, with his two most recent bouts won inside the UFC Octagon.
McGregor made his UFC debut against Marcus Brimage at UFC on FUEL TV 9 in April, where he scored an impressive first round TKO win. He then followed that up with a unanimous decision victory over a tough Max Holloway at UFC Fight Night 26, which took place in August.
Here is what the “Notorious” one said when asked who he would like to fight next:
“You can put me in with any of these guys. I try to be so humble, but I look around the top 10, and I see rookies everywhere. So many rookies and so little time, I just can’t wait to come back.”
Brimming with confidence, it’s not hard to see why McGregor is so popular with fans. He is great to watch, loves to put on exciting fights and has a unique personality that leaves you wanting to see and hear more.
It will be interesting to see who the UFC pick for Conor to face next, there are so many tantalising choices and options, he is literally a matchmakers dream. I am definitely looking forward to his return and hope this current injury doesn’t keep him on the sidelines for too long.
“I don’t shy away from controversy. This is the fight game. I’m here to stake my claim. It’s nice to be nice, but it pays to be bad. I’m in here to make everyone feel uncomfortable.” – Conor McGregor.
