Two new MMA bouts have been added to the BAMMA 14 preliminary card as Zi Shah (4-0) faces Andy Craven (2-0) in a featherweight bout, and Matt Hallam (3-2) takes on Curtis Widmer (2-0) in a middleweight matchup. The event is set to take place at the LG Arena in Birmingham, England, on Dec. 14.
The two new bouts were announced by BAMMA officials earlier today.
BAMMA 14 will feature a headline bout between between Paul Daley and Romario Da Silva, who will engage in a welterweight showdown. The main card is expected to air on Channel 5 with the prelims likely to air online.
Undefeated fighter Zi Shah is currently riding a four fight winning streak, most recently defeating Khalad Radman via first round submission at UCFC 5 in July. Prior to that he picked up victories over Malcolm Richardson, Craig Allen and Mark Aldridge. None of Shah’s fights have left the first round, so I am sure he will look to continue that trend with a first round win over Craven.
Andy Craven last fought at CSFC 5 in July, where he landed a first round submission win over Kam Patel. Prior to that he scored a second round submission victory over Danny Welsh at CSFC 4 in March. Craven will no doubt look to extend his winning streak to three with a good performance against Shah.
Matt Hallam was last in action at BAMMA 13 in September, where he suffered a second round submission loss to Harry McLeman. Prior to that he scored a first round TKO win over Nick Nembherd at Fight UK 9 in April, which followed a second round TKO loss to Yannick Bahati at Fight UK 8 in November 2012. Hallam now has the chance to bounce back into the win column on Dec. 14.
Meanwhile, Lions Pride MMA fighter Curtis Widmer is currently riding a two fight winning streak, most recently defeating Tye Palmer via decision at UCMMA 35 in August. Prior to that he picked up a third round TKO win over Joe Cooper at UCMMA 33 in April. Widmer now has the chance to put yet another notch in the win column with a good performance against Hallam.
