Ultimate Fighting Championship (UFC) fighters Conor McGregor and Diego Sanchez have begun a back and forth war of words on Twitter, which has resulted in both men asking UFC president Dana White to let them fight each other.
McGregor is currently injured and not expected to return until around June next year as a result of a torn ACL. Relatively new to the UFC, the Irishman has made it clear that he plans to waste no time in proving that he is a force to be reckoned with, in both the UFC’s featherweight and lightweight divisions.
Here are some of the Tweets that the fighters exchanged:
@DiegoSanchezUFC My comeback fight will be Dublin next year. Its a done deal. McGregor Vs Sanchez. Ireland Vs Mexico. @danawhite Lets do it.

@TheNotoriousMMA@danawhite I’m up next in Dallas Texas in March let me know if you want to get #KTFO ? Your all talk #challengeisout
— Diego Sanchez UFC (@DiegoSanchezUFC) November 27, 2013
As you can see, there is no love lost between these two guys, and I personally think it would make for a great matchup. Not only are both men exciting, aggressive fighters, but they both have the personalities to really capture the attention of UFC fans in the build-up for this bout.
Although it’s an exciting prospect, it is highly unlikely that McGregor would be ready for a fight against Sanchez when the UFC returns to Dallas, Texas in March. Sanchez would probably need to fight someone else before getting his hands on McGregor. However, when McGregor returns in the summer of 2014 it would be great to see him take on Sanchez in Dublin. We will have to wait and see what happens.
