A big fight between Carlos Condit and Josh Koscheck has been confirmed to take place at UFC 143 which is set go down at the Mandalay Bay Events Center in Las Vegas on February 4th 2012. This welterweight bout will be the co-main event on the night.
Carlos Condit will enter this fight with an MMA record of 27-5 and a nice string of wins. He is currently on a four fight winning streak and was set to face the UFC welterweight champion Georges St-Pierre at UFC 137. GSP was forced to withdraw from the fight after sustaining a knee injury during training. After this happened the fight was re-sheduled to take place at UFC 143 instead, but as a result of Nick Diaz defeating B.J. Penn and calling out GSP the UFC decided to go with that fight instead. Condit will be next in line to fight GSP if victorious against Josh Koscheck.
Josh Koscheck will enter this bout with an MMA record of 16-5. He is coming off a big win over UFC veteran Matt Hughes at UFC 135 which took place in September of this year. Josh won the fight via knockout in the first round earning ”Knockout Of The Night”. This fight was Koscheck’s first fight back since losing a championship fight against Georges St-Pierre at UFC 124 in December 2010. In that fight Josh suffered a broke orbital bone which left him out of action for approx 7-8 months to allow the injury to heal. He has shown he is back and will now get the chance to take Carlos Condit’s momentum if he can score the win. This should be a great fight!
Thanks guys,
Jay Cee.
