This week it was confirmed by the UFC that middleweight fighters Michael Bisping and Tim Boetsch will take each other on at UFC 148. This event is set to take place on July 7th 2012 at the MGM Grand Garden Arena, Las Vegas. The headline fight for that evening will be Dominick Cruz vs. Urijah Faber who will meet for the third time and fight for the bantamweight title.
Michael Bisping will enter this fight having just come off a loss to Chael Sonnen in a fight to become the number one contender for Anderson Silva’s UFC gold. Bisping lost this fight by decision snapping a five fight winning streak. Before losing the fight to Sonnen he had strung together four victories in a row against the likes of Dan Miller, Yoshihiro Akiyama, Jorge Rivera and Jason Miller. If Bisping can bounce back with a big win over Boetsch it will again leave him at the top end of the pile.
Tim Boetsch comes into this fight with a big victory under his belt. By defeating Yushin Okami at UFC 144 in Saitama, Japan he has catapulted himself to the top of the middleweight division. In the fight Tim made a massive comeback by knocking out Okami in the third round after losing the first two rounds of the fight quite heavily. This all or nothing attitude turned the heads of not only the fans but the UFC themselves. Many feel that since making the drop to middleweight Tim Boetsch has looked much stronger, since being in this weight class he has strung together three straight wins and does not plan to stop anytime soon.
Thanks Guys,
